So I was watched this video and it is at once inspiring and confusing. It makes me want to create, teach and learn in new ways. But I can not see a clear path on how to do so. I recommend watching the above presentation in its entirety 55min. But if you just want a flavour here is some:
Of course in the interest of being participatory; here is my youtube page: serundeputy
He mentions this web site? Program?
Fruity Loops <– so I guess I need to look this up.
Now I have to back up all the databases for the Wikis, Blogs, and CMSs and port over all the software after I configure the technology stack on the new server.
After using my google wave sandbox account for about 1/2 the summer … I finally got 8 invites to add people I know to google wave; http://wave.google.com. Well I only have 7 left, but I am very excited about the propects. My students were also beta testers so we should be able to get an entire class in.
so if you are philosophically inclined you can give that a go. It is supposed to be a study on the works of Bertrand Russell, but as everyone will tell you reading it will probably tell you more about me than Russell.
First week of school is done. 109 Manhattan Virtual Classrooms (MVC) and as many questions on MVC, software, computers etc. I feel a little exhausted.
Set up wordpressMU on both jasperstreet and Noleton (school server), looking forward to taking that for a go with the students. LHS Wiki is still going strong. The JS installation of wpMU can be found here: http://jasperstreet.homeip.net/wpmu, but it is just a proof of concept and gives the specs of the server, but if you want to look at it there is the link. It also has a customized theme installed just to see if I can offer custom themes to users, I can.
Despite the complaining I love it.
Oh, yes and in between I did a little teaching. All my classes look great, everything is going quite swimmingly.
Here we will make some syntax errors on purpose and observe how javac complains; the intention being that when we do not make errors on purpose we will know what javac is saying to us, and thus know how to correct it.
